Cavani will leave Napoli, claims mother
Manchester City and Chelsea target Edinson Cavani could be set to leave Napoli, according to the striker's mother.
Speculation on the 26-year-old's future has intensified following a radio interview with the player's mother, Berta Gomez, who admitted that he is looking to leave the club.
"He has told me he wants to go elsewhere and to leave Napoli," Gomez told Uruguayan station Radio Salto.
"Edi doesn't know what will happen yet. Naples is a city that lives for football. The affection of the people is marvellous and I have always told my son, 'You can go anywhere, but nobody will love you like they do at Napoli.'"
Cavani has scored 24 times for Napoli this season, who sit second in Serie A behind Juvenuts. The striker has a £53 million release clause in his contract, and has admitted he would find it hard to stay at the club if they failed to convince him the squad was good enough to win silverware.
Should he become available in the summer, Real Madrid are also rumoured to be interested in securing the Uruguayan's services.
