Bayer Leverkusen v PSG: UCL projected lineups in German and French showdown
Sami Hyypia is no stranger to life on the big stage in the European scene having been part of Liverpool's 2005 "Miracle of Istanbul," UEFA Champions League winning side.
But, it is a different scenario altogether as the manager of a club that is working to return to former glories.
The German side were runners-up in 2001-02 and with the side currently in second place in the Bundesliga and charging into the knockout stages of Europe, Hyypia has them well on their way to return to their proud former place.
However, French Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain stand in the way of a trip to the next round and have the advantage of the return leg being played in Paris.
Edinson Cavani's absence will see the attacking fall to Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the leader of the line Sidney Sam and Stefan KieBling will lead the way for Leverkusen.
Hyypia will have to keep Lars Bender on a tight lease as a yellow card for the German international would see him miss the second leg and his performance and contribution are expected to be crucial for the German side's hopes.
Leverkusen XI: Leon; Hilbert, Toprak, Wollscheid, Guardado; Bender, Rolfes, Castro; Sam, KieBling, Son.
PSG XI: Sirigu; Wiel, Marquinhos, Silva, Maxwell; Varratti, Motta, Matuidi; Moura, Ibrahimovic, Lavezzi.
