Chelsea suffer Torres injury blow
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has been ruled out of action for three weeks after picking up a knee ligament injury.
The Spaniard limped out of the Champions League victory over Steaua Bucharest in Romania on Tuesday night and was replaced by Samuel Eto'o.
The west London club have now confirmed that the 29-year-old will miss approximately three weeks of Chelsea's season due to a ligament problem in his left knee,
"Chelsea Football Club can confirm Fernando Torres suffered a medial collateral ligament injury to his left knee in the Champions League group game at Steaua Bucharest on Tuesday evening." a statement on the club's website read.
"The 29-year-old will be out for approximately three weeks."
The news will come as a blow to the Blues as the forward was just starting to pick up form after impressive displays against Swindon Town and then Tottenham.
However, Torres was sent off during the second half of Chelsea's clash with Spurs but survived extra punishment for an off-the-ball incident with Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen.
Jose Mourinho's side will travel to Norwich City in the Premier League this weekend.
