Novak Djokovic was named the top seed in Wimbledon above world number one Rafael Nadal in the seedings list announced on Wednesday ahead of the third Grand Slam tournament of the season that starts on Monday.
The All England Club awarded the top billing to Djokovic while defending champion Andy Murray was seeded three over seven-time winner Roger Federer.
According to Sport24, the All England Club used its controversial grasscourt weighting system in deciding its seeds instead of sticking by the ATP world rankings.
Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka in relation to the seeding system said Wimbledon does what it wants, adding that for him it is fine.
The top 10 Wimbledon seeds announced by the All England Club are:
1. Novak Djokovic
2. Rafael Nadal
3. Andy Murray
4. Roger Federer
5. Stanislas Wawrinka
6. Tomas Berdych
7. David Ferrer
8. Milos Raonic
9. John Isner
10. Kei Nishikori (ANI)
