Egypt should be proud of Salah, says Roma's Pjanic
Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic says that Salah 'speaks about Egypt all the time'
"He speaks about Egypt all the time," the 26-year-old player told an Egyptian television program after the Roma-Ahly friendly Friday.
"I am very happy to have a player like Salah on my team. He is very easy to play with. We know each other's qualities and we understand each other very well on the pitch," Pjanic said in the interview, which Sada El-Balad channel aired Tuesday evening.
This season, Salah scored 14 goals and created eight others to win over the Roma fans. He also netted once in the UEFA Champions League.
"Salah is a very important player for Roma. All the team trust him and I think he feels good with this team," Pjanic said.
Salah has been one of Roma's key performers since joining from English side Chelsea last summer, carrying on from where he left off in the second half of last season when he blossomed in a brief loan spell with Fiorentina.
Pjanic, who is engaged with Roma for another two years, has also praised all his teammates and coach Luciano Spalletti, hoping they deliver a better performance next season and win the league title.
Roma earned a Champions League qualifying spot after finishing third with 80 points, 13 clear of fourth-placed Inter Milan. Napoli are second with 82 points, nine behind champions Juventus.
Egypt's Ahly defeated the Italian giants Roma 4-3 in a friendly match at the UAE's Hazza Ben Zayed Stadium on Friday.
