Three Egyptian footballers from Zamalek arrested over dispute with army officer
Players from an Egyptian football club were arrested at a Cairo airport and transferred to a police station for allegedly attacking an army officer, Egyptian daily Ahram Online reported.
The newspaper reported that Zamalek player Mahmoud Abdel-Razek, better known as Shikabla, was being sent to a military prosecutor after a physical confrontation took place between him and an army officer in the Hurghada Airport in Cairo.
Two of Abdel-Razek's teammates, Salah Soliman and Hazem Emam, were also arrested for their involvement. The dispute allegedly started when the officer, who was wearing a t-shirt of a rival club, starting teasing the players at the airport, according to the newspaper. The players from Zamalek football club were returning from a Champions league game in el-Gouna.
