Iran will take part at the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament after winning two titles in WABA and Challenge Cup.
Iran claimed the title of the West Asia Basketball Association (WABA) tournament in early June after defeating holder Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Jordan.
The tournament served as a qualifier to the 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge which will take place in Iran from September 9 to 18.
Team Melli then traveled to China to participate at the 2016 International Basketball Challenge.
Dirk Bauermann’s team also won the title after defeating teams from Macedonia, USA, Lithuania (twice) and China.
It seems Iran is well-prepared ahead for the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which will be held between July 4 and July 9 at the multi-purpose Pala Alpitour indoor sports arena in Turin, Italy.
Iran, Greece and Mexico will trade blows in Group A, and the top two sides will advance to the Final Round to meet the top two sides from Group B.
