England goalkeeper Joe Hart believes penalties are "lotteries" to winning soccer games and is aiming at penalty shoot-outs to pave way for the Three Lions to emerge victorious against Italy.

Hart claimed he would willingly volunteer to fire in a penalty against Italy as well as face them, as the Euro jackpot is at stake.

"I'll definitely put my name forward but we've got some quality players in this squad and if there are five other potentially better than me, I'll be cool with that. Penalties are a lottery. There's this jinx about us never beating the Germans in a shoot-out and then Chelsea went and blew that out the water," The Telegraph quoted Hart, as saying, who calmly converted his kick in the 2009 Euro Under-21s semi-final in Gothenburg.

"If I were to walk up, it wouldn't be a random blast. I picked my way as best I could. When I practise them, I put them in all parts of the goal," he added.

Hart claimed that he would not get rid of shoot-outs.

"No way. It's the only way to settle a game that's been dragging on for 120 minutes. Usually by the 105th everyone's knackered and the last 15 is a waste of time. You need some way to settle it and it's the best way," Hart said. (ANI)
