Premier League

Despite the 2-0 defeat at the Emirates stadium on Sunday, Liverpool can be pleased with the start they have made to the season. It has put them in a great position to challenge for a top four spot or even the title. Daniel Sturridge has been an integral part of this good start, but Luis Suarez is not too far behind.

The Uruguayan provided Liverpool's biggest threat against Arsenal and he could have easily led the away team to a victory if not for a few refereeing decisions and poor finishing.

Suarez was reported by the Uruguayan press to have told his international teammate Edinson Cavani that he was still looking at a possible move to Real Madrid in January. Even though Suarez has been playing well this season, rumours about a possible move in January have not gone away.

This latest rumour only puts further doubt on his future. Suarez has come out and brushed aside those rumours. According to Sky Sports, he told a local radio station in Uruguay that he is only looking at doing well for Liverpool.

"Absolutely nothing at all [truth in the rumours]. In the team we are all really excited, looking forward and looking forward to a good season.

"The Premier League is the best league there is. The stadiums, the atmosphere and the fans make football here so entertaining."

After scoring 30 goals in the league last season, Suarez has been one of the few Premier League stars to be included in the 23-man shortlist to win the FIFA Ballon d’Or award. The 26-year-old, though, has only an outside chance of winning this trophy and he is quick to acknowledge it. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Franck Ribery are the favourites to win the award this season according to Suarez.

Suarez is already on his way to scoring at least 20+ goals this season. He is on six league goals for the campaign after having returned to action only a few weeks ago from his suspension.

The weekend's defeat has left Liverpool five points adrift of table leaders Arsenal.
