Macheda plans to quit Man Utd at end of season
Macheda was reportedly rewarded a four-year contract by former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson when the Italian striker scored a superb stoppage-time winner in a 3-2 victory at home to Aston Villa in 2009's Premier League.
According to Sport24, Macheda's four-year contract with United ends this season, though he has spent most of the last three years on loan playing for Sampdoria, Queens Park Rangers, Stuttgart, Doncaster Rovers and joined second-tier Birmingham City in January, where he scored three goals in his first six games for the club.
Macheda said that he would miss his stay at United, as Ferguson believed in him so much, the report added.
Macheda also added that getting a text from Ferguson after he scored two goals against Charlton last month was 'incredible' as Ferguson had not spoken to him in a long time and the text came as a 'relief' for Macheda.
Macheda has reportedly scored four goals in the 19 games he has played for United, though he last played for the club in December 2012. (ANI)
