Manchester United bounced back from their disappointment against Manchester City last weekend with a mid week victory over Liverpool in the Capital One Cup. However, their win was anything but comfortable as Liverpool looked the side in form all night but failed to finish a number of clear cut chances that should have seen them through over their Northwest rivals.

West Brom may have gone out of the Capital One Cup this midweek but they took Arsenal to penalties as they fought to the death but were eliminated.

Steve Clark has claimed that he is not intimidated by the trip to Old Trafford against United and the up and down form that the champions have displayed as of late will certainly give the Baggies hopes of pulling off an upset.

Although Rafael returned this week for United he is not expected to feature as Chris Smalling is likely to reclaim his place at right back while Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia are certain to return in the place of Nani and Shinji Kagawa.

Most notably Robin Van Persie is set to make his comeback for the Red Devils and they could certainly use him while Javier Hernandez or Danny Welbeck are likely to be his second half replacement to work him back into the first team and full fitness.

Chris Brunt could make his return to the West Brom first team, but after a mid week run out he could be rested to ensure he is fully fit.

This will be the first time to two clubs have faced off since their thrilling 5-5 draw that saw Sir Alex Ferguson make his departure from football in an action packed way. There is certainly potential for that type of game, but it is unlikely given the tactics and display's of United as of late.
