Manchester United will look to bounce back from an embarrassing 4-1 defeat on Sunday against local rivals Manchester City. Manager David Moyes is expected to make a number of changes as the club hope to set things right in their second match against Liverpool early this season after they were defeated in the Premier League by their North West rivals at the start of the month.

Likewise Liverpool suffered their own setback as the Reds' unbeaten start to the season was halted by Southampton, ironically the last club to have defeated them in Premier League play back in March of this year. Brendan Rodgers and his players know all to well that if they start poorly against United it will be a repeat of the same.

While United are expected to continue without star forward Robin Van Persie and Danny Welbeck is likely to once again lead the line with Wayne Rooney pulling the strings as the club's no. 10. Shinji Kagawa and Wilfried Zaha are set to enter the squad on the wings while Anderson and Tom Cleverly are likely to replace Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick. Fabio Da Silva and Johnny Evans are also expected to be drafted into the defense.

Liverpool know that without European football in their calender once again that chances for Cup glory have to be a major focus. Brendan Rodgers is expected to make only a few changes as Jose Enrique should be back in at left back while Luis Suarez will replace Iago Aspas but it is not certain if he will be in support of Daniel Sturridge or on one of the flanks.

Martin Kelly, Andre Wisdom and Raheem Sterling could all have a chance of being in the first team, but Victor Moses and Kolo Toure are still believed to be in first in line as the left wing and right back.

It will be a match decided by the club that has the most urgency and desire to return to form after a poor loss. Liverpool have been poor at creating out of the midfield following the loss of Philippe Coutinho, but the return of Suarez could be catalyst needed to get them going again.

United have looked out of ideas and lost at times this season and their creativity has been lacking. Although they had a strong display in the Champions League last week, they looked a completely different side at the weekend and if they fail to break down the Liverpool defense as they did at Anfield early in the month they will struggle to impose themselves.

A host of changes for United could be just what they need to get things going in the right direction while Liverpool will look to the return of Suarez as their means of putting their ship right.
