David Moyes remains adamant Wayne Rooney will not be leaving Manchester United, but is confident of signing players before the transfer window closes.
Rooney played for over an hour last night as England beat Scotland 3-2 at Wembley, despite having missed the Premier League champions' recent pre-season games with a shoulder injury.
But Moyes insisted the striker is building up his fitness and will not be sold this summer amid ongoing interest from Chelsea.
"[There have been] no more developments, we don't want any more developments because we've told everybody - which I've said before - he's not for sale," he told Sky Sports News.
The Scot was impressed with the contribution of the striker, who was substituted in the second half by Roy Hodgson.
He added: "I watched the game last night and I thought for the 65 minutes or so that he played he done [did] well. He ran around, got himself some fitness, but it certainly was his first real outing in any real competitive game."
Moyes also indicated United - who have missed out on signing Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona - are "working hard" to sign players before the season starts.
"I'm confident we'll have players in before the start of the season, yes," he continued. "We're involved in several players we are looking at and that will continue.
"Will we get them before the deadline? I hope so. But we're working very hard to do so."
