Man Utd's Vidic close to sealing move to Inter
Manchester United man close to sealing move to Italian giants
Nemanja Vidic could be one his way out of Old Trafford this summer if reports in Italy are anything to go by. Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio tweeted earlier today that the Serbian international is 'close' to closing a deal with Inter for June.
David Moyes is thought to be planning a large clear-out of his squad this summer, and 32 year old defender who is out of contract in the summer, could sign for the Italian side soon on a free transfer.
Players are permitted to speak with other clubs six months within the end of their contract, so a move for Vidic to Inter is a large possibility.
Di Marzio posted more about Vidic's potential transfer to Italy on his blog: Nemanja Vidic is close to [a move to] Italy, Inter are now pressing to close the deal. The Nerazzurri are today ahead of everyone, and they want to define and formalize contract details in the next few days.
The mood is cautious but optimistic. Vidic, who is out of contract in June, can already sign on a free transfer, and after the arrival of Hernanes it would be the second big coup for the new Inter owner Thohir.
Nemanja Vidic signed for Manchester United in 2006 and has enjoyed a fantastic career at the Premier League giants. He's now made 201 Premier League appearances, notching 15 goals in the league during his time in red. He's made a total of 284 appearances across all competitions.
With Rio Ferdinand and Vidic both seemingly in their final months as United players, David Moyes will likely have a busy summer ahead as he looks to replace two of his side's longest serving players. Jonny Evans can certainly play in the center of defense for United, but Moyes will have to bring in two top center backs to fill the gaps left by an aging Ferdinand and Vidic.
United fans, who do you think Moyes should seek out in the summer to replace his core defenders? Do you think Vidic has done all he can do in a United shirt or should he stay around?
