Oman football team coach Pim Verbeek has called up 26 probables for his first training camp that will be held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (SQSC) from March 5 as he begins the team's preparations for the AFC Asian Cup second round qualifiers.
Oman is placed in Group D with Palestine, Maldives and Bhutan and begin its campaign with a home game against minnows Bhutan on March 28. It will be Verbeek's first game as Oman coach since he took over in the first week of January.
The probables called up by the coach for the first camp excludes players from Suwaiq and Saham clubs and also overseas players.
Players from Suwaiq and Saham are currently busy with their AFC Cup campaign. Verbeek will hold the second camp from March 20 and is expected to finalise his team for the Bhutan game during the second camp.
The match against Bhutan will be played at the SQSC and the Oman Football Association (OFA) has announced free entry for the game.
The match kicks off at 7pm. Oman has to travel to Palestine for its next game on June 13 and then hosts Maldives on September 5.
It then travels to Maldives for the return leg game on October 10 and will be on the road as it faces hosts Bhutan on November 14. It concludes its campaign on March 27 next year when it hosts Palestine.
