Oman to host 2015 Laser Radial Women's World Championship
Most famous names in women sailing in the Laser Radial class set to take part in the championship
Most famous names in women sailing in the Laser Radial class will take part. The championship will be a chance to contenders in order to refine their abilities and tactics of sailing ahead of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August 2016.
This championship will be the last competitive station of this size in this category and the last elimination station ahead of the Olympic Games next year in Brazilian city of Rio.
As many as 100 best sailors in the world will participate in the championship, the Chinese sailboat racer Lijia Xu who won the gold medal in the London Olympic Games in 2012, and the Belgian Evi Van Acker, ranked first in the world.
The competitions will continue for six days with a day off. The sailors will play two races on each day of the championship until it culminates on Thursday, November 26th, which will see the closing ceremony and the awards presentation in the presence of dignitaries from the Sultanate, the Organizing Committee of the championship and the International Laser Class Association.
