Tottenham v Cardiff: Predicted lineups
Everton got back to winning ways and reversed their recent skid that had seen Tottenham take charge of fifth place in the Barclay's English Premier League. With the Toffee's victory they are now just two points back of Spurs with the North Londoners looking to get their full five point gap back to normal when they host Cardiff on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs will hope that fullback's Kyle Walker and Danny Rose will be back after missing the club's UEFA Europa League campaign victory in midweek but both Gylfi Sigurdsson and Etienne Capoue are unlikely to be recovered in time.
Having struggled in their loss to Norwich last week, their midweek fight back against Dnipro will see the home side given a boost ahead of a much needed match against the 19th placed Bluebirds.
However, Spurs have been poor all season in matches following their Thursday European commitments and that could see Cardiff see a little light at the end of the tunnel.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær continues to look for his way forward at the helm of Cardiff as his side have only taken four points from their last 18 possible and a trip to Spurs sees them favored to drop another three.
Steven Caulker will return to his former club's home ground for the first time since his move to Cardiff and he will be looking to shut down his former teammates and hopefully help to earn his side a much needed result.
Tottenham XI: Lloris: Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose; Paulinho, Bentaleb, Dembele; Lennon, Adebayor, Eriksen.
Cardiff XI: Marshall: Theophile-Catherine, Caulker, Turner, John; Noone, Mutch, Bo-Kyung, Zaha; Campbell, Jones.
