Reports from around Europe are suggesting that Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for out of favor Spanish midfielder, Juan Mata.

Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho this summer Mata has been left on the sidelines more often than not despite his importance to the club in the past two seasons.

With the World Cup next summer getting her quickly, the 25-year-old Spanish international is expected to be keen on a move despite his comments about his love for Chelsea and the fans that were quoted by TalkSPORT earlier today:

“I am happy at Chelsea. I have always felt the support of the fans - in every game, on the street - I have felt the love from them. I try to play for them, score for them and make them happy. We have great support.

I want to play as much as I can, but if you want to win titles you need 24-25 players ready to play. Anyone can play any game."

Although he is currently a Chelsea player until at least 2016, Mata is believed to be the subject of a £36 million bid that French club Paris Saint Germain is preparing for January.

The player is thought to be one that could make a huge difference for PSG according to the thoughts of's French Chief Editor Naim Beneddra:

"Juan Mata is definitely the kind of midfielder who can bring more to this already star-studded PSG side. A few months ago we may have wondered where Mata could fit in, but with the planned departure of Jeremy Menez and Javier Pastore, coupled with Lucas Moura's fitness struggles, there will certainly be a place for the Spaniard.

Mata's technique and turn of pace with the ball at his feet would see him combine and complement the more imposing figures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani."

It will be interesting to see just what happens in January when the window opens as Mata is certain to be a major target by more than just PSG if he well and truly does go up on the auction block.

The growing discussion of whether or not Oscar is good enough to be the long term replacement for Mata also will continue to be a major debate and if Mata goes and Oscar fails, then the finger will be pointed at Mourinho.
