Villas-Boas tells Real Madrid to forget about signing Bale
Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has said he has his chairman Daniel Levy's word that Gareth Bale is going nowhere, and told Real Madrid that they are wasting their time in trying to sign the Welsh star.
According to the Daily Star, Madrid is willing to pay a world record 85 million pounds to land Bale, who bagged 31 goals for club and country last term to land a clean sweep of the three main end-of-season individual player awards.
However, the Tottenham boss is confident that Bale will stay at White Hart Lane despite the Spanish giants' public pursuit, adding that he has Levy's word that Bale will stay at the club.
Villas-Boas has also urged Spurs to reward Bale, who still has three years to run on his current 120,000 pounds-a week contract signed last summer, with a new deal.
Numerous Bernabeu figures, led by ambassador Zinedine Zidane, have also spoken out about Bale in a bid to put pressure on Spurs and turn his head, the report added. (ANI)
