Suarez says Liverpool future does not depend on Champions League
Suarez 'very happy' at Liverpool even if didn't win Champions League
Star Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has insisted that his future at the Merseyside club does not depend on their qualification for the Champions League although he backed them to end their four-year wait for Europe's elite competition.
Suarez endured a turbulent summer when he made it clear that he wanted to leave Liverpool for a club that played in the Champions League although he has refocused at Anfield, not only to enjoy what he calls the finest season of his career but also to agree to a new long-term contract last December.
According to The Guardian, Suarez, who scored his 24th goal of the season in the Premier League, has been a driving force in Liverpool's push for a top-four finish and he said that he would stay at Liverpool even if they fell short of the Champions League as he is happy at the club and is enjoying football and life there.
Stating that he feels better in the club everyday, Suarez also said that he hopes to continue down the path with Liverpool and extend that mentality throughout the World Cup with Uruguay, although he admitted that he preferred if Liverpool won the Champions League this season.
Suarez also said that they have done everything possible to win the European competition, adding that it would be an unforgettable experience and it has been too long since they last won the trophy. (ANI)
