Super Bowl XLVIII: Seattle Seahawks batter Denver Broncos 43-8
Seattle Seahawks batter Denver Broncos 43-8 to win Super Bowl XLVIII
American football side Seattle Seahawks has battered the Denver Broncos record-setting offense with a strong defence in a dominating 43-8 win in the Super Bowl XLVIII, silencing an all-time great's bid to become the greatest ever.
Seattle hoisted the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in franchise history, which made, Pete Carroll, the re-tread coach who injected life back into the team tucked away in the Pacific Northwest, into a Super Bowl champion.
According to the New York Daily News, the Seahawks scored 14 points off Peyton Manning's pair of first-half interceptions that sealed the Broncos' fate before Bruno Mars' halftime gyrations at MetLife Stadium.
The report mentioned that the Broncos had no answer for an attacking and opportunistic defense that scored 21 points off three of their turnovers and effectively turned the best group of skill position players in the league into defeated warriors.
The report mentioned that the match was the first Super Bowl pitting the league's top-ranked offense versus the league's top-ranked defense since the New York Giants beat the Buffalo Bills 23 years ago. (ANI)
