Spanish forward Roberto Soldado has found it quite difficult to add to his goal tally and has not been able to reach his form that he had displayed in the La liga.

Finishing the season with 24 goals leaving him 5th top goalscorer in the La Liga , Roberto Soldado’s move to Tottenham had left many wondering how to stop a superb striker like Soldado. Devastatingly, many have forgotten his past achievements due to the Spanish international striker’s current form, leaving fans wondering whether they have signed the wrong striker.

Having only scored 4 goals in 11 matches with only 1 out of play goal, Soldado has not yet fell in sync with the pace of the Premier League. Understandingly many foreign players lack the ability to physically compete with experienced members of the league, but this does not seem to be the problem rather it is the fact that Soldado is isolating himself from play.

Trying to get involved in the game, the Spanish striker moves from the oppositions defence deep into the midfield with the desire to receive the ball leaving the forward line in the control of the oppositions defence. Roberto Soldado should begin to pay attention to his international team mate Álvaro Negredo who has scored 9 goals in 17 matches.

When Negredo plays he seems to intimidate his opposition with crucial headers and goal threatening shots, leaving coaches planning ways to stop him even if he is on the bench. Although it is quite early in the season to begin giving Soldado names, there are major signs indicating that there is much improvement that is needed for the Tottenham forward.
