Wenger to complete two-decade boss role at Arsenal!
Wenger hints at new Arsenal contract to complete two-decade boss role
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted that he would accept a reported new two-year deal by the club to reach two decades in his current role, following his low stock with the Arsenal fans due to Saturday's defeat by Blackburn in the UAE.
Wenger, whose seven million pound-a-year salary made him one of the highest-paid bosses in world football, has indicated that he would be prepared to sit down for talks with the club, the Sun reports.
According to the paper, Wenger's future faced a bleak prospect after Arsenal's continuous eight seasons without trophies, and his rejection of an informal approach by Arsenal's management to arrange talks last season.
But the Arab owners of Arsenal have been forced to keep Wenger to restore the club to its former glory and to develop a team to take advantage of the new financial fair play rules, the paper added.
Wenger has been at the club since October 1996 and has won three titles and four FA Cups although there has been no major trophy since their Millennium Stadium triumph over Manchester United in 2005. (ANI)
