West Ham v Manchester City: Projected lineups for semi-final clash
West Ham v Manchester City: Projected lineups for semi-final clash

West Ham United have a herculean task to try and overcome a five goal deficit to Manchester City whom crushed the Hammers at the Etihad in the first leg.

Sam Allardyce knows that his club are almost certain to be eliminated, but there have been stranger things to have happened.

Both Kevin Nolan and James Tomkins should return to the first team and although it is unlikely to end in happiness for the Hammers, the club will hope to put on a good showing for their home fans.

Manchester City are only two wins from a first trophy under Manuel Pellegrini. If they see off the Hammers, they would be the sufferers of one of the greatest cup turn arounds of all time if they dont, the Citizens will have booked the first ticket to Wembley of this campaign.

The Uruguayan manager is expected to rotate his side, but still name a strong first eleven as West Ham will certainly do the same.

Hammers XI: Adrian; McCartney, Collins, Tomkins, Rat; Morrison, Noble; Downing, Nolan, J. Cole; C. Cole.

Citizens XI: Pantilimon; Richards, Nastasic, Lescott, Clichy; Fernandinho, Garcia; Navas, Aguero, Milner; Dzeko.
