The Netherlands never would have dreamed that their opening match against Spain would see them thrust to the front of their group and leave the defending World Champions in the position to have to fight for their lives.
However, that is just the case as Holland now have the opportunity to win against Australia and have all but wrapped up a place in the next round.
The performances of Arjen Robben and Robin Van Persie against Spain were some of their best showings in their national team history and they will have to continue to produce like that to ensure a long cup run.
Australia looked threatening at times against Chile and the score line between the two flattered Chile a bit as the Socceroos honestly deserved more than Tim Cahill's header to have been a goal for them and a draw would have been a fair result against Chile in the opening day of the group.
Clockwork Orange will have their eye fixed on a victory and have all the weapons to their disposal available. Wesley Sneijder was at times the unnoticed hero for Holland against Spain and he is certain to be a pivotal part of the attack yet again today.
Tim Cahill will hope that he can lead his nation to another respectful performance, but hopefully get their just rewards from this one other than their disappointment of not getting a draw against Chile when they truly pushed for it..
