Japan v Colombia: Predicted lineups
World Cup 2014: Japan v Colombia Preview and Projected Lineups
Japan have to win and hope that the Greeks can only manage a draw against the Ivory Coast if the Blue Samurai are to go through into the next round. In a group that looked sure to be full of excitement and dullness equally, Group C has lived up to its promise.
Colombia are already though to the knockout stages, but they will want to take top spot so nothing less than a win or draw is on their agenda for the match.
Japan have proven they can keep a full side from scoring on them a man down for over a full half and will take promise from that knowing they can dig deep to grind out results.
However, there is no grind to a draw that is helpful here for Japan and the Japanese attack will have to come out full force hoping that they can make a mess of the Colombia defense that has been solid thus far having only allowed one goal past them.
Shinji Kagawa is expected to be back in the Japanese first team while Colombia are believed to be set to make a few changes with Jackson Martinez set to make his first start of the tournament while Juan Quintero and Santiago Arias could also be thrust into the first team to rest several others.
Japan Starting XI: Kawashima: Uchida, Yoshida, Morishige, Nagamoto; Endo, Yamaguchi; Okazaki, Honda, Kagawa; Osako.
Colombia Starting XI: Ospina: Zuniga, Yepes, Zapata, Arias; Aguilar, Sanchez; Quintero, Rodriguez, Ibarbo; Martinez.
