In renewed negotiations with the militant group, mediator Sheikh Wissam al-Masri said Daesh presented three new demands for the release of the 25 Lebanese servicemen hostages, including the release of all female Muslim detainees in Lebanese prisons, a weapons-free zone for Arsal, and the creation of a civilian hospital to aid refugees.

According to counts by rights group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Daesh has conducted 1,878 executions since their lighting offensive on northern Iraq in June, 120 of which were foreign Daesh fighters caught trying to return home.
