Residents of the Syrian city of Hama said they were holding a general strike on Sunday in memory of the dozens of people shot dead by security forces over the weekend.
A Syrian rights activist on Thursday conveyed that Syrian army soldiers and tanks were moving into more areas across the country in a bid to crush the ongoing uprising.
Opposition activists said Wednesday that the death toll from violence in the central city of Hama increased to at least 22 after Syrian security forces opened fire on civilians.

It is very shameful for the rest of the world to simply look on with hands folded as the Government of Syria is systematically killing its own people who have legitimate demands on how they should be governed. If the rest of the world continues to look on the people of Syria will take matters in thier own hands , get weapons and fight the government. In that way the Middle East will be in a bigger problem than what is happening right now.
