If Iran poses a threat to the Middle East, then by definition, it also poses a threat to Israel. Also through statements and actions by it's leader. Hizbollah may not have fired missiles at Israel during the operations in Gaza

> That's just nonsense. If Iran poses a threat to the Middle East, then by definition, it also poses a threat to Israel.

Then you did not understand the statement. What Meshal is saying is that Iran military capabilities is NOT COMPARABLE to israel's military capabilities, and thus does not pose a threat.

But, compared to Arab nations, it can be a threat.

That's just nonsense. If Iran poses a threat to the Middle East, then by definition, it also poses a threat to Israel. Also through statements and actions by it's leader. Hizbollah may not have fired missiles at Israel during the operations in Gaza, but there was a war between Israel and Hizbollah in 2006 - and it definitely fired missiles then, and now has rockets (from Iran) aiming at Israel... so therefore, Iran is a threat to Israel.

Why should Israel possess nuclear weapons in violation of the international law", "why should Israel occupy the lands which don't belong to it", "why should Israel repeatedly threaten its neighbors and wage wars against them", "why should Holocaust be used as a pretext to suppress the Palestinian nation?", "why should Iran be deprived of the peaceful uses of nuclear power while the United States, Russia, France, United Kingdom and China have thousands of nuclear weapons?"

Israel "occupies" lands that don't belong to it, because Israel's neighbors declared war against it and lost. Often, a by product of losing a war is losing territory.

Israel "threatens" its neighbors because its neighbors threaten her, and aren't willing to reach a real and long-lasting peace agreement.

The Holocaust is not used as a pretext to suppress anyone. But it does play a role in how things have developed over the course of time.

No one is convinced that Iran wants nuclear power for peaceful purposes, and as a signatory of the NPT, it is breaking rules it has vowed to adhere to.
