A car exploded in front of a Coptic Christian church as worshippers emerged from a New Year's Mass in the Egyptian city of Alexandria early Saturday, killing at least 21 people, officials said.
Egyptian Coptic Christians living in the United States have sent a letter to American Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, imploring her to take more action against what they termed a “crime against humanity” facing the Christian population in Egypt from the Muslim Brotherhood.
The deadly clashes in Cairo this weekend are the latest in a series of threats to the achievements of the Egyptian people earlier this year, when they brought down Mubarak. Such incidents rob the “Arab spring” of its credibility, and announce the arrival of the Arab Autumn or 'Fall'.
