British Airways is offering very affordable tickets to Britain for the duration of the campaign
UK flagship carrier, British Airways and VisitBritain - the national tourism agency for Britain - have joined forces to launch a joint campaign which will run until 17 April 2011.
Themed “Britain. A different picture around every corner,” the campaign aims to attract Middle East based holidaymakers looking for a “classic” British experience. It is designed to support research that shows the UK is apparently packed with more world-class heritage and history sites than anywhere else on earth.
British Airways is offering very affordable tickets to Britain, with return World Traveller (economy class) tickets available from just SAR 2,655 for the duration of the campaign, including taxes fees and surcharges, and with validity for travel until 30 September 2011.
“Britain’s enduring appeal means it remains a firm favourite with regional tourists and is still one of our most popular leisure destinations globally. We know that many tourists are looking to book their summer getaway in the coming weeks and we hope that the campaign will help attract them to the UK,” said Paolo De Renzis, British Airways’ area commercial manager, Middle East.
De Renzis expects the fares to prove particularly popular with Middle East residents that are keen to escape the summer heat. “We usually see spikes in traffic to the UK during the hot summer months so the reduced fares will most likely be popular with tourists looking to head to a cooler climate”
Carol Maddison, VisitBritain’s marketing manager; UAE said “We are committed to raising the profile of Britain around the region and showcasing the multitude of attractions there. Whether it’s a rural retreat or a visit to one of Britain’s ancient castles, these fares from British Airways make it an ideal weekend-getaway.”
