Who is she? Probing into the case of the Missing Syrian Lesbian Blogger

Speculation on whether the notorious Syrian blogger, Amina Abdulla Arraf, even exists
Painful doubts about Amina
Casting doubt on this Syrian/ American blogging lesbian's credibility: It does seem that there has been much misinformation the last couple of months with regards to the events in Syria, and some admittedly found the blog post on 'My Father,The Hero' , featured by Al Bawaba, strange at the time. Something fishy?
"Over the course of the day as I tracked the stories about Amina I noticed that all the articles sourced her blog, and then her other blog from 2007. I started looking for traces of her elsewhere. She has a Facebook page, but not a lot of other presence. "

Reflections on self distance and the 30 year old crisis
O, seriously?
"Keeping a distant from others can result in a meticulous process of self absorption. Keeping a distance from yourself, can be socially appealing. Recently, I've been wavering between the two, only to discover that you cannot take a distance from yourself, if you do not know yourself well enough to take yourself lightly, i.e. make light jokes about yourself to make others feel at ease, drop their guard, and feel no need for a confrontational stance. I mean, seriously, why take yourself seriously."
