The world did not end, but a woman driving caused hellfire and damnation
A Woman in Saudi Arabia makes waves with her driving stunt in protest.
Saudi Arabia: A couragious woman drives in Jeddah
For women elsewhere staging a protest would usually be on foot. In KSA it's on wheels. This is not down to laziness or a pampered way of living. This is not the chauffeur or husband at the steering wheel or vanguard of the protest-- but a woman. In Saudi Arabia, where driving for the fairer sex is strictly prohibited.
"Najla Hariri is taking to the roads in Jeddah. After driving in Egypt, Lebanon and Europe she found it too ridiculous not to be able to go anywhere with two cars but her husband and eldest son away. Although she does not want to be at the vanguard of change she feels she has no choice. She has the full support of her husband."
