Alfa introduces important discounts to the Lebanese market with a new prepaid plan

As part of its ongoing efforts to provide the most convenient offers at reduced prices to its subscribers, Alfa, the first Lebanese mobile operator managed by Orascom Telecom, announces that it has launched a new prepaid plan under the name “Alfa Waffer,” enabling all prepaid subscribers to benefit from new and discounted packages on all voice calls, SMS, and value added services.

“The new Waffer plan was tailored to meet needs of our subscribers and to cater for the growing demand for mobile services among all segments,” said Alfa Chairman & CEO, Marwan Hayek commenting on the launch. Hayek continued: “As part of our permanent endeavour to enhance the telecommunications industry in Lebanon, in partnership with the Lebanese Ministry of Telecommunications, we are always seeking ways to introduce flexible offers to our subscribers while allowing them to save on their calls and services. The new Waffer plan definitely falls within this framework.”

The new “Alfa Waffer” plan proposes to the Lebanese market three new recharge cards that allow Alfa prepaid subscribers to benefit from lower tariffs reaching a 36% discount versus current and all having a 30-days validity:

The $9.09 recharge card offering 30-minutes air time or equivalent,

The $15.15 recharge card offering 60-minutes air time or equivalent,

And the $27.27 recharge card offering 120-minutes air time or equivalent,

(All prices are excluding VAT).

With any “Alfa Waffer” recharge card, prepaid subscribers benefit from 25% discount on local and international SMS and all available value added services; e.g. 7 cents per local SMS vs. 9 currently, : $7.13 for BlackBerry vs. $9.5, $1.13 for clip alert vs. $1.5, etc.

In addition, Alfa will introduce the $3.64 Emergency recharge card, (VAT Excluded), the first of its kind, which allows subscribers who run short of credit to recharge their line as many times as they want during the  30 days.

To benefit from “Alfa Waffer” plan, new subscribers can buy the new Alfa Waffer SIM card for only $4.55 (VAT excluded). Existing Alfa prepaid subscribers have the option to switch to “Alfa Waffer” at no additional cost by simply sending a free of charge- SMS to the short-code 1028.
