Bahrain Polytechnic was established in 2008 by his Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as a cornerstone project of the Economic Development Board (EDB), chaired by H.R.H Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bahrain Polytechnic was created to address the need for a skilled Bahraini labour force aimed at supporting economic growth and diversification and is therefore proactive in ensuring the success of the Kingdom's economic reform program.

The Bahrain Polytechnic is a tertiary education organization committed to building a better future for Bahrainis by providing improved training and educational opportunities. Bahrain Polytechnic offers internationally recognized training programs that are fully based on the application of new knowledge in real life situations, thereby making sure that students develop high levels of critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Bahrain Polytechnic is unique from other education providers in terms of the principles on which it has been established and from which it operates. It builds close relationships with industries, employers and professional groups, both in Bahrain and abroad, and this strategy, set by the Board of Trustees, will ensure that Bahrain Polytechnic graduates meet the needs of the labour market.
