Barwa Al-Khor and Pearl GTL sign major lease agreement of new long term Al Khor Housing Project

Barwa Al Khor and Pearl GTL today signed a major leasing agreement of the new residential Pearl GTL compound, a long term housing project to be developed by Barwa Al Khor which will provide 300 apartments and 50 villas for Pearl GTL staff when it is handed over on 1 January 2014.
Developing the Pearl GTL Project in Qatar, Pearl GTL required residential housing for their highly trained and skilled operators, technicians and shift supervisors that are responsible for the day-to-day operations at the world-class plant at Ras Laffan. Urjuan a QR30 billion waterfront development is seen as an ideal location to accommodate oil and gas professionals, because of its proximity to Ras Laffan Industrial City, approximately 20 kilometres north of Al Khor. The best in class living compound shall enjoy one of a very few waterfront beach communities in Qatar.

KEO International Consultants have been appointed as Barwa Al Khor’s Consultant providing architect, project management, engineering and structural engineering services for the project.

Pearl GTL’s housing compound at Urjuan will have unique buildings reflecting a distinct architectural presence. Feature landscaping will greet visitors to impress those that enter the compound and all the three bedroom villas will have private gardens front and rear. Security to a very high standard will be provided in the form of CCTV and guardhouses. Recreational facilities will include swimming pools, sporting and entertainment facilities, outdoor sports areas, a clubhouse with a gym, squash courts and indoor games like badminton, volleyball, billiards and table football. There will be playgrounds for children and tot lots for infants. Other features will include covered car parking, a mini-market, day care centre, restaurant and mosque.
Barwa Al Khor will prepare each housing unit for occupancy by co-ordinating the development’s site activities with the Pearl GTL residents’ suppliers and furnishing contractors in time for the handover in 2014.
