CGR Forum 2011 aims to help organizations achieve sustainable growth

Schema, one of the Middle East's prominent advisory organizations focused on Corporate Governance (CG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability announced that the 3rd Corporate Governance and Responsibility (CGR) Forum, under the theme ‘Realizing Sustainability’, will take place from June 12 -14 2011 at the Landmark Hotel.
The CGR Forum will bring together leaders from the private and public sectors, NGOs, and global CGR experts to exchange knowledge, have open discussions and debates in the areas of CG and CSR, while building an awareness of the importance of Sustainability.
Maali Qasem, founder and CEO of Schema, and chairwoman of the CGR Forum stated, “In the last few years, we have witnessed a rapid evolution in the development of Corporate Governance and Responsibility in the region. Governments continue to implement legislation to regulate these practices, and the private and public sectors are increasingly taking a more strategic approach to CG, CSR and Sustainability.”
She added, “The CGR Forum 2011 will provide business leaders with a unique opportunity to understand the link between CG, CSR and Sustainability and how to implement CG and CSR together in order to become an invaluable cornerstone in helping their organization achieve sustainable growth.”
To provide the greatest value to its stakeholders, the CGR Forum will be structured around highly engaging and interactive sessions and workshops, enabling business and thought-leaders to discuss relevant issues, share practices, launch initiatives and voice the challenges they face in the advancement and implementation of CG, CSR and Sustainability.
The keynote speakers at the Forum include Edith Hunt, C.O.O of the Human Capital Management Division at Goldman Sachs and Philip Armstrong, Head of the Global Corporate Governance Forum. Others distinguished speakers are comprised of global and regional thought leaders who share principles, best practices and relevant cases whilst paving the way for Jordan to determine its own unique frameworks, standards and methodologies for CG, CSR and Sustainability.
As part of its commitment to advance the practices of CG, CSR and Sustainability in the MENA region, Schema is committed to undertaking initiatives to address the concerns and challenges expressed by attendees through collaborating with the private sector, civil society, governments, legislative bodies and others. These initiatives are outlined in the Output Document published following each CGR Forum.
