The government of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) came together to conduct a feasibility study for the Kingdom’s power sector workforce. The study identified a considerable gap between workforce supply and expected demand, lack of collaboration between industry and existing technical training institutes and the need for new trades such as Smart Grid, Energy Efficiency, Solar, Wind and Nuclear programs. In conclusion, the study recommended to establish a world class industry-led National Power Academy.

The NPA will help reduce unemployment, contribute to economic growth and increase Saudization levels for the local energy sector workforce.

Its vision is to be a world-class leader in technical training and education for the Kingdom’s power sector.
