Dubai Aluminium re-certified to ISO standards in quality and environmental management

Being an industrial enterprise, whose activities and processes pose inherent potential risks, Dubai Aluminium Company “DUBAL” is conscious of the need to safeguard the environment and to protect the safety and health of both employees and the residents of surrounding communities. The company is equally committed to absolute quality in the products and services offered to customers across the world. This is reflected in DUBAL's corporate certification to several major international quality standards, two of which have been renewed recently following audit-based visits by assessors from the certification body Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance “LRQA”. 

The renewal certifications comprise:

BS EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, where DUBAL’s entire smelter operations (smelting and casting of primary aluminium and manufacture of carbon anodes), desalination process, power plant and engineering design/project management processes have been re-certified to the standard. DUBAL’s initial ISO 9001 certification dates back to September 1996, when the smelter operations received accreditation. The other areas were accredited in the intervening years.  

BS EN ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System, where the re-certification embraces the entire smelter operations (initially accredited in April 1999), desalination process, power generation, engineering design/project management and all services at DUBAL. 

DUBAL also holds the following ISO certifications:

ISO/TS 16949:2009 Automotive production and relevant service part organisation

OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Safety and Health Administration System

ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Information Security Management System

ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 Information Services Management
