Electric cigarettes and electric shisha (hookah) are now banned in Oman according to a decision taken by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACA).

Traders should remove all stock of e-cigarettes and e-hookah from all shops in Oman for the benefit of public health.

Under the new ruling, a fine of OMR 500 will be imposed on violators who trade the illegal cigarettes.

“The fine will be doubled if violation was repeated,” the decision reads.
