Egypt's Administrative Court ordered Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb to take the necessary measures to ban porn websites inside the country, on Wednesday.

This is Egypt's most recent decision that is geared towards the ban of porn websites. In May 2009, the court ordered the prime minister and several other ministers, including the interior minister to ban the websites in Egypt.

More recently, in November 2012, the state's top prosecutor at the time ordered a ban on porn websites and on any pornographic image or scene on the internet that may be "inconsistent" with Egyptian values and traditions or the "supreme interests" of the state.

The case which the court ruled on today stated that the texts of Islamic law and the divine laws of all heavenly religions have come to raise human beings to a "higher standard of dignity."

The case also said that websites continue to circulate "immorality", having an effect on children and young people and the state's "failure" to issues laws and legsilations to criminalise and ban these websites is a negative decision.
