Iraqi police arrested a man on his wedding night in the capital city of Baghdad on Sunday after his first wife accused him of being a prominent leader of Daesh, reports al Kwan news.
Police Colonel Salam Ahmed said the Mansour police station received a tip from a lady in her forties. The woman claimed her husband is a high-ranking member of Daesh. She elaborated, telling police her husband had recently returned from Mosul and was plotting terrorist attacks in Iraq. She also said he kept large amounts of explosives in their home.
She also told police her husband intended to flee their home after she "discovered" he was a terrorist.
When police stormed the man's home to arrest him, they found the alleged terrorist enjoying his first night with his new wife. His friends and family had just finished the wedding celebration just onehour before police arrived.
The new bride fainted when special security forces stormed the house and broke down the door.
Police quickly realized the first wife was seeking revenge on her husband when they interrogated her.
She has since been arrested for falsely accusing her husband and distracting the Iraqi police from their duties. Her father paid her bail of 50 thousand Iraqi dinars ($43).
