The prominent Egyptian director Tawfiq Saleh was elected head of the most recent cinema culture society which was formed in Alexandria and dubbed Arts Horizon…7th Art, according to the daily al Ahram.
Actors Mahmoud Hemaidah and Wasim Mohyiddin were elected deputy heads and Sami Hilmi as secretary general. Ibrahim Desouki was elected treasurer and scenarist Abdel Hayy Adib, Dr. Shawki Ali Mohammed, former dean of Cinema Institute, Mohammed Fayed, Auf Abdel Rahman, Mohammed Rafiq and Ali Shawki as members.
The society will open its activities Tuesday evening by holding the Palestinian cinema week at Alexandria Gallery’s Creativity Center. It will include the films Dreams of he Exiled directed by May al Masri, Fire is Coming by Mohammed Sawalmeh, Is There Anybody by Ali Bader Khan, Key by Ghaleb Shaath, Deceived by Tawfiq Saleh and Until Further Notice by Rashid Mashharawi -- Albawaba.com
