Egyptian comedy star Adel Imam has made reservations at 60 cinema theaters for his new film Amir al Zalam (Prince of Darkness) to be screened next June, opening the forthcoming cinematic summer season in Egypt.
However, the new film which cost 8 million pounds, has been waiting for screening for more than one year and has been postponed many times over fears of failure in the presence of the young comedy stars whose films generate millions of pounds.
Amir al Zalam is considered as a family film, as it stars Adel Imam, directed by his son Rami who debuts in movie direction and produced by Adel’s brother, Essam.
Costarring in the film, along with Imam, Shireen Seif al Nasser, Yousef Daoud, Ragaa al Gedawi, Khaled Sarhan and a number of young actors and actresses.
The film which was scripted by Tamer Abdel Mene’m and Abdel Fattah al Beltagi, tells the story of a blind retired military pilot who loses his eyesight during Egypt’s famous October war.
