Egyptian beauty queen Laila Fawzi passes away

Prominent Egyptian actress Laila Fawzi, who is known to be one of the most beautiful women in Egyptian cinema, has passed away at the age of eighty. Laila was one of the pioneers of the Egyptian cinema, and had taken part in over 85 films throughout her career.


According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Laila’s roles had always concentrate on bringing out her beauty. She had starred with some of the most prominent Egyptian actors like Ahmad Mathhar. Laila also played extremely difficult roles that required a real skillful actress like the part she played in the film "Darbit Shams" alongside prominent Egyptian actor Nour El Sherif.


The actress also received many honorary awards for her achievements in the cinema, one from the former Soviet Union for her role in the film "Al Naser Salah Al Din". Laila was married three times but never had any children.
