Egyptian actress Elham Shaheen has submitted a formal request to Egyptian officials to be granted permission to visit imprisoned Egyptian ousted President Husni Mubarak. Elham is currently for a reply to her request, which is most likely to be a refusal. With this move, Elham is considered to be the most courageous artist who has stuck to her stance, which is support of Mubarak since the beginning of the Egyptian January 25 Revolution that overthrew Mubarak and not changed her political views regardless of public opinion.
During the revolution, Elham had publicly announced her support of Mubarak during a telephone interview with the Egyptian National television channel. During her interview Elham addressed protesters against Mubarak telling them they should not be talking ill of Mubarak who according to her is a symbol of Egypt.
Elham stated that many of the protesters have not goal and are puppets being played by outside influence.
