Popular game show host George Kirdahi, presenter of “Man Sayarbah Al Malyoon” (Who wants to be a Millionaire), is known to have reached the hearts and homes across the Arab world and the west. George has also managed to captivate more admirers when he attended the International United Nations day held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Cairo.

George attended the celebration as the UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Conservation of the Environment. He is the first Lebanese to be given such an honor under the UN humanitarian movements. Egyptian Actor Hussain Fahmy, who also is a UN Goodwill Ambassador as well, attended the event and gave a speech along with his good friend Kirdahi. Both men belong to the UN’s EP (Environment Program), and are placing great efforts in their positions as ambassadors and are committed to introducing better changes that will benefit nature as a whole.

In early August, George announced his resignation from ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’, and renewed his deal with MBC to host a different program that may not appear on MBC, which is said to be focused on discussions of current hot issues. Coming to a permanent cease on New Years Eve 2003 ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ will become a memory to cherish, unless another presenter could be found, having the same characteristics of the former game show host Kirdahi.

Apparently, a new TV station “Al Arabiyah” (headed by Jordan’s former Minister of Information) is to be launch early next year in conjunction with MBC and other Saudi investors including former Lebanese PM – Rafiq Al Harir.

“Al Arabiyah” will be a news channel said to be in competition with “Al Jazeera” for Arab audience. Kirdahi will host a political talk-show on “Al Arabiyah” that will tackle current issues. –Albawaba.com
