Syrian actor Jamal Suleiman has bitten back at claims that he is living it up while his country struggles to survive, after a picture emerged this week of the star partying with a scantily clad belly dancer.
Jamal took to Facebook to let fans know exactly what he thought of those behind the release of the compromising shot: "The electronic dogs have run out of ideas of finding ways to ruin the image of people, especially those calling for a free and democratic Syria.”
In a recent interview with Arab news channel, Al Arabiya, the well-loved star said he is having sleepless nights over Syria. But, after the release of the scandalous picture, people started thinking he might not be in quite as much agony as he had claimed.
Jamal isn't taking this lying down - he has come out to say that the photo wasn't taken a few days ago as the papps have claimed, but years before the unrest in Syria even began.
And that's not all - Jamal says he is more the stay-at-home than party-the-night-away kind of celeb and had in fact been in Abu Dhabi looking after his parents on the day the belly dancing was supposed to have taken place.
Fans will be pleased to hear that Jamal won't be letting the haters keep him down and vows to keep calling for a free Syria which is is confident will one day come true.
