Joint Syrian, Jordanian, Qatari series to tell ‘Andalusian Story’

“The Time of Continuity, An Andalusian Story” is the title of a new Syrian historical series to be directed by Aref al Tawil and jointly produced by the Arab Center in Jordan and Qatar TV, according to the daily Syria Times. 

Costarring in the series are Asaad Fedda, Muna Wasef and Najah Safkouni. Actors from Qatar and Jordan also take part in the series.  

The historical series records the period of al Hakam Bin Hisham and Abdel Rahman Bin al Hakam, the grandson of Abdel Rahman al Dakhel nicknamed as “The Eagle of Quraish”. It also casts light on the prosperity of the Islamic civilization in Andalusia in all fields of life, particularly, art, science and religious tolerance.  

The series shows that internal differences and disunity were the main reasons behind the collapse of the Arab civilization in Andalusia. The series focuses on the great achievements realized by Arab intellectuals in different fields of life, particularly architecture, medicine and astronomy.  

The director told the daily that the series will also cast light on the outstanding intellectuals and scientists who lived during the Andalusian Age and their important contributions –
