Lopez's Party Out of Bounds

After waltzing away with the 2000 Versace Award at the VH1-Vogue Fashion Awards for being the celebrity who best personifies the energy and daring of the late designer, Jennifer Lopez and a slew of A-list pals commenced with a party in the library bar of the Big Apple's swank new Hudson Hotel, according to an item in the New York Daily New.

According to MrShowbiz.com, Keith Richards and Paul McCartney shot pool with the former Beatle's daughter, Stella. Kate Hudson of Almost Famous canoodled with boyfriend Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes. Rounding out the guest list were luminaries including Sheryl Crow, Moby, Liv Tyler, Chris Rock, Laurence Fishburne, Chris Noth, Christian Slater, Lara Flynn Boyle, and mega-model Gisele Bundchen, minus her other half, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Lopez’s fiancé, Puff Daddy, was reportedly in Detroit checking out the Mike Tyson fight.

So far, so good. But come about 3 am, Lopez decided she needed to shake her celebrated rump and set to getting her groove on in the hotel garden. Egged on by their hostess and the music, other revelers spilled out into the night air.

Maybe there's some truth to the view that New York is being spoiled by tourists, because some guests at the Hudson actually thought this sort of conduct was unacceptable and complained to the front desk; the neighbors, meanwhile, simply rang the fuzz. "The sound system in the garden was too loud," a spokesperson for the Hudson's proprietor, Ian Schrager, of Studio 54 fame, told the Daily News today. The boys in blue showed up, herded the guests back into the bar, and saw to it that the volume was lowered.

But being in the presence of so much glamour at no additional charge apparently wasn't enough to send Ma and Pa Kettle and their ilk home smiling. "The hotel did comp some of the rooms as a gesture of good will," admitted Schrager's rep. – Albawaba.com.
